Configure a specialist
Open AI Agents to edit an included specialist or create a custom agent. Give the agent a clear name and role title, then define its biography, voice, greeting, sign-off, empathy, emoji preference, operating instructions, and knowledge scope.
Choose the channels where it may work and the actions it may propose. An agent cannot exceed the workspace’s Shopify policy even when its own profile allows an action.
Approval modes
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Draft only | Prepares text but cannot propose commerce execution. |
| Human approval | Prepares a contextual draft for a teammate to review and send. |
| Automatic safe actions | May complete only actions that also pass workspace policy, limits, and live validation. |
Profile photos
Upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP image, or generate one with AI. The included monthly generation allowance and any additional purchase price appear before generation. A progress dialog stays visible while generation is running.
Review agents regularly as products, policies, or responsibilities change.
